How to get there
From the airport to the city
The international airport of Iceland is Keflavik Airport (KEF) located about a 45 minute drive away from Reykjavík. There are two bus companies that travel regularly and frequently to-and-from Reykjavík, Flybus and Airport Direct. The bus tickets are roughly 4000 ISK one way.
There is also the No. 55 public bus which departs from the airport roughly every hour depending on the time of day. The tickets, as of August 2023, are 2280 ISK one way. Please check the schedule for this option. This is also a good option to get back to the airport.
From the city to the venue
Address: Brynjólfsgata 1, 107 Reykjavík
Reykjavík is not terribly large, so chances are that the venue is an easy walk away from your accommodation. The venue is located inside the campus of University of Iceland roughly 20 min walk from the centre of Reykjavík. The best way to get there is to use the public bus system. Keep in mind that there are no trains, trams or metro in the city and the only public transport is via the yellow buses. The most convenient way to buy tickets is through the app Klappið.
Another option is to use the numerous E-scooters around the city. The largest service is Hopp and requires setting up installed app. Always be careful and mindful of your surroundings when traveling on the E-scooters since the traffic is still getting used to hybridizing car lanes with other modes of transport. We recommend using the many bike paths around the city.
There is unfortunately no Uber, Lyft, or other international taxi services operating in Reykjavík. Instead, we recommend the largest local Taxi service Hreyfill which can be reached through +354 5885522 or by using their app.
